Description
This upbeat residency gives students the unique opportunity to express their own views and backgrounds while exploring each other’s cultures through language, clothing, symbols – and art. Junanne teaches her students how to draw a self-portrait and how to create a personal motto or quote, expressing an idea, a hope, or a belief. The portraits are then transferred to a 6’ by 6’ prepared canvas which will become a collage of portraits. The finished canvas is a beautiful, completely portable mural, easy to move and display. With Junanne serving as a guide, students’ self-portraits reflect more than simply the artists’ likenesses. Students will work and complete their sketch to take with them.
