Description

Children discover the fascinating history of Spain and its influence on Texas and Mexican culture through breathtaking flamenco dances, lively music, and colorful costumes. Daniel smoothly combines information about the custom, folklore, and culture of Spain as he teaches children to play the castanets and perform flamenco and other Latin American dances.

Students Will

  • work with a professional dance artist.
  • create an original dance piece.
  • experience a highly participatory dance program.
  • learn to use a castanet.
  • learn about the influence of Spain of the cultures of Mexico and the United States.

Deadline: Minimum of three weeks prior to requested performance date.
Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
